A Tradition of Excellence

The law firm of Temple and Temple was started in 1948 by attorney Douglas Temple. In 1989, Mr. Temple was joined by his son, Robert Temple and in 1994 by Robert’s wife, Marisa Temple. Although Douglas Temple is no longer with us, his son and daughter-in-law carry out his tradition of providing practical and personal legal representation to people throughout Onondaga County and central New York.

Robert Temple was born in Syracuse and graduated from Jamesville – Dewitt High School.  He received his bachelors degree and masters degree from Stanford University.  After graduating, Bob taught school for five years, and then enrolled in law school at Syracuse University.  After graduating magna cum laude from Syracuse University, Bob clerked at the New York Court of Appeals for two years before joining his father in practice.

Marisa Temple was born in Trieste, Italy and immigrated to Utica, New York when she was 2 years old.  Marisa graduated from Kirkland College (now part of Hamilton College) on a full scholarship and worked in the film and television industry for a number of years before attending law school at Syracuse University.  Upon graduation, Marisa worked for the Onondaga County Attorney’s Office, where the her work entailed protecting the legal rights of children, handling child support cases, and some aspects of criminal law, such as traffic violations, misdemeanors, and DUI.  She joined her husband and father-in-law in private practice in 1994.

Bob and Marisa carry on the tradition of legal excellence started by Douglas Temple.  They handle cases in the areas of law including:
